Call for Volunteers

The Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) is pleased to announce the second annual graduate students’ conference: “Today’s Ideas, Tomorrow’s Innovators” taking place May 5 – 7, 2010. One of our main objectives is to create a sense of community among graduate students and to highlight graduate research. The conference organizing committee would like to invite you to participate as a volunteer and contribute to the success of this conference. Volunteering for the conference is a truly rewarding experience. It is also a great opportunity to meet other graduate students and is a wonderful addition to any CV or resume. Above all, it’s a lot of fun!

Please see below for details about the different roles of volunteers as well as approximate time commitments.

Required Volunteers’ Positions:

  1. Oral Presentation Judges – Oral presentation judges will be responsible for assessing student presentations in coordination with other judges. Their recommendations will be forwarded on to the awards committee for determining the best presentations of the conference. Estimated time commitment is 2-3 hours.
  2. Poster Presentation Judges – Poster presentation judges will be responsible for assessing posters and recommending the best posters to the awards committee. Estimated time commitment is 3-4 hours.
